Abuse is Abuse Campaign

You can help break the silence.

With Truth Collective, Willow Center’s Abuse is Abuse Campaign delivers a powerful message about relationship abuse and our role as a community to break the silence.

Multiple messages addressing all forms of abuse—physical & emotional, financial & psychological—will be appearing throughout Domestic Violence month and onwards, and with the generosity of our media partners on TV, radio, billboards, street posters, in magazines and social media. With compelling messages on posters (download below) and billboards, Tipping Point Communications has engaged leading Rochester media partners including Lamar Outdoor Advertising, City Newspaper, POST, and (585) Magazine. Truth Collective developed campaign videos which are airing on 13 WHAM ABC, FOX Rochester, CW Rochester, News 8 WROC, News 10 NBC, Entercom Rochester and 98.9 the Buzz.

From Truth Collective:

“The core idea for the campaign came from the realization that tiny words can do major harm. These are small words we use to diminish something, to ignore it, to hide it, to lessen the impact. Just. Only. A little. Kind of.

But there is no such thing as a just a little abuse. It’s only name-calling? It’s name-calling. All abuse, all forms, all amounts, are dangerous and completely unacceptable. It’s time we talk about it.”
